Harper proposes less rigid climate-change plan

Stephen Harper said that gas emissions to be slashed in half by 2050 on Monday


at the United Nation. It was first time that Canada desire for a less rigid arrangement than the


Kyoto protocol. Harper basically on the opposite side of Kyoto protocol. He developed nations


reduction targets and developing countries such as India and china, do not. Also, Mr. Harper


focused on the issue of techno logy. The UN
Secretary – General Mr. Ban outlined his


recommendations for a new climate change deal
which Mr. Ban warned Tokyo protocol if there


is an extension. Canada’s perspective is that
“Climate change is perhaps the biggest


environmental threat faced by our planet today,
and Canada is committed to achieving


significant reductions in greenhouse – gas emissions over the coming years. Harper declared


that Climate changes are one of the greatest problem.
